Why not use google for half of these questions?

I don't get it why do some people ask questions on this that can easily be answer in a dictionary or in a online biography or on wikipedia. I get it for people seeking advice but when people ask questions like what is a spanner you wonder why the don't look in a diction or search google because you need to wait for an answer which might bot even be right for half of the things on this!
