Pontoon boat using 55 gal plastic barrels?

this boat i want to make 16- 20' long by 8' wide i would like it wider but it needs to be able to go down the road on the trailer. i would like tho know how i can make some sort of "cone" in the front of each column of barrels to allow smooth travel across the water
