What can i use instead of an inkstone in calligraphy?

Do you mean a Suzuri Stone for oriental calligraphy? You can buy liquid Sumi ink or pulverize the ink stick using a mortar and pestle or by smashing it to powder with a hammer. If you need to use the hammer method I would put it in a couple of ziplock bags first. ( just one bag will probably get holes in it )
